Description
Pinewood Rays of Hope (Korth-P., – Korth-L.; 2024)
27”, 6”, M, Dor., 4 branches, 20 buds, Diploid,
((Seedling x Rose F. Kennedy) x (seedling x Daniel Howard Norris))
Clear red with green throat and long white midribs
This outstanding diploid is a little different for us in that the dominating feature is not a large green throat. The dominating feature of Pinewood Rays of Hope is the clear red color and white midribs splitting each petal. The light green throat is a good match for the red petals and white midribs. The flowers are not flat when open but recurve showing the white midribs.
The plants of Pinewood Rays of Hope are hardy dormant. The scapes are well proportioned with good branching and bud count. These features along with large flowers that open well make Pinewood Rays of Hope a fine garden plant.
The genetics of Pinewood Rays of Hope include some of the best from the Doorakian and Norris breeding programs and when combined with our diploid program that includes Arno’s Bow Tie, the result is a breeding powerhouse. It is pod and pollen fertile and we are seeing some fine seedlings from it.
