Diploids

In 2003, Pinewood Gardens began working with a few select diploids to explore enhanced green throats. We started with Malachite Prism, Artificial Intelligence, and Our Friend Sally. The first seedlings in 2005 were crossed to each other. The second generation produced seedling Arno’s Bow Tie which was a 2012 introduction. This flower has a large green throat, a lavender band and a lavender rose petal. The sepals are much lighter making this flower a striking bi-tone. Many people have commented on how different this daylily looks. Search for Green Pastures followed in 2013 and we have two more introductions in 2015. These large green throats are a unique look in the garden and draw attention with the bright colors.
