Description
Pinewood Miracle Worker (Korth-P., – Korth-L.; 2023)
32”, 5.5”, EM, Dor., 5 branches, 25 buds, Tetraploid,
((Seedling x Cerulean Warbler) x Saracenia) x Pinewood Mirror Lake
Our three new introductions in the lavender/blue eyed color range all have unique genetics. Pinewood Miracle Worker genetics includes the lovely lavender Saracenia. The result is a reddish purple flower with lavender blue eye and edge. Not only is this a different looking flower compared to others we have introduced but Pinewood Miracle Worker has shown great versatility in breeding with a wide variety of flowers.
In the garden, Pinewood Miracle Worker produces abundant flowers on fine scapes, increases well, and is hardy in our zone 4 climate. Flowers open easily and look good in all weather conditions.
As a breeder, Pinewood Miracle Worker stands out. When combined with flowers in our lavender/blue eye program, we have gotten intensely colored eyes. Crossed with solid purple, we have gotten richly colored purples with lavender watermarks. Pinewood Miracle Worker will have a strong influence in our breeding program for many years. Easily fertile both ways, it has great breeding potential for northern hybridizers because of its versatility and unique genetics.
