Rich purple with blue/lavender watermark, green throat, and a large, ruffled edge of blue lavender rimmed with white.
The best feature of Unseen Realm is the exceptional color the flower displays. The flower jumps out in the garden with clear purple petals and white edging. In the garden, Unseen Realm opens consistently with perfect blooms. The scape height is fine for a front border plant, and the bud count is good, so we have been treated to many lovely blossoms in a bloom season.
Unseen Realm is pod and pollen fertile, and we are seeing many great flowers from it. As a breeder, it can be used with dark purples, lavenders, reds, and watermarks. The genetic background includes purples, pinks, reds, and lavenders so the possibilities are nearly limitless.
The name came from one of my favorite books. The Unseen Realm: Recovering the Supernatural Worldview of the Bible was written by Dr. Michael S. Heiser in 2015 and it changed the way I read and view the Bible. I highly recommend it, but it is not an easy read. The flowers remind me that there are unseen elements in daylilies that will be discovered and enjoyed in the future.
