Life’s a Stitch has as its most unique feature a burgundy band in the middle of the petal that separates the bright green throat from the butter yellow petal tip. The burgundy band appears to have been sewn onto the petal. Rather than curve to match the flower shape, the dark band is straight across the petal. This feature gives Life’s a Stitch an uncommon appearance which is striking in the garden.
As a garden flower, Life’s a Stitch has consistently beautiful flowers that are easily recognized. It is also useful in hybridizing being pod and pollen fertile.
